Passive Egg Houses

These egg houses are 90% recyclable. Meant to resemble easter eggs (as you can see, they are painted in whimsical bright colors) and inspired by nature, they are a composite material of recycled tires and wood waste.

Meant to use renewable energy sources and grey water, the houses are designed to be 70% more energy efficient than typical housing construction. The egg shape is naturally more energy efficient, and the structure of it makes it inherently earthquake proof.
The houses are named "KasaUovo" meaning "egg house"by the designer Roberto Casati and a group of Tuscan engineers, and are 750 sf.
